SkyFish just released another trial for Gouen no Soleil, only this time it’s the highly-anticipated (well, at least I’m anticipating it) card battle portion of the game. You can find it in the download page of SkyFish’s Gouen no Soleil homepage, or you can skip the rigmarole of having to find it yourself and go directly here.
I haven’t tried it out for myself since I’m busy with something at the moment, part of which is trying to at least finish a route in Kamipani so I can finally set myself down the path of being able to actually finish that game. Never mind how I’m going to definitely throw the rest of the titles in my backlog out the window once this and 11eyes comes out, but let’s put that aside for now.
Another noteworthy update to Gouen no Soleil would be the available character voices and seiyuu comments that are available for preview and download. I don’t know if it’s just me who checks this out, though I do find it fun to listen to voice samples because they give me a rather accurate gauge of how their performance will be in the actual game. As of this writing, characters up to Mugen have available voice samples, so if you want to see how they’ll sound like in the game then you might want to check it out. It’s also reassuring (and somewhat hilarious) to note that Aoba Ringo is continuing her tradition of moe-moe seiyuu commentaries. I particularly laughed hard at her remark as to why she continues to voice flat-chested characters for SkyFish, and how the staff at SkyFish drew a parallelism between her name and Rin’s. Aoba Ringo is just so awesome!
As an aside, this is probably the third time I’ve encountered Kazane, Aoba Ringo and Kawashima Rino together in the same game. First was in Shirogane no Soleil, with Kazane as Miori, Aoba Ringo as Sol Valkyr, and Kawashima Rino as Hagaru Valkyr. Second was in Beat Blades Haruka, with Kazane as Takamori Haruka, Aoba Ringo as Shihoudo Narika, and Kawashima Rino as Subaru. This game makes third, with Kazane as Rokushiki Ouka, Aoba Ringo as Nanashiki Rin, and Kawashima Rino as Sanshikigoshikikai Rengoku. Wonder how their performances will be? Kazane’s performance as Ouka seems to be a mix of Mio Kifune and Takamori Haruka, while Aoba Ringo’s is Sol Valkyr with a touch of Shihoudo Narika with some goofiness added.
If you guys manage to grab the card battle trial and play through it before I do, please don’t hesitate to tell me how it is!

Somehow, I never got to adding the site’s RSS feed until now, so I ended up missing like, 10 of your posts or something. Well, congrats on your move, anniversary, etc.
And if I find out how to work the damn thing, I’d gladly comment on that demo.
Just got the Trial 2 now, and wow. If there ever was a time that I regret having gone into eroges, it’s this. The card battle tutorial section is heavily kicking my ass.
And as of now, it’s official. Me and Gouen no Soleil’s card battle system is so tsuntsun with each other that I’m ready to start stabbing it with a rake.
better think faster cause its near the point of the month where backlogs and new release bash with each other in a very painful and stressful way

now im thinking on getting both games successor of wyrd and this one @_@ <_< not sure about that yet but the real deal on my list had always been 11eyes
Algester: Be warned, Successor of Wyrd is a pretty hefty game, at 5.5GB! And if you add Gouen no Soleil with that, both games total up to 10GB, give or take.

hmm i guess if i already got the HD space and bandwidth ill prepare myself for an all good time experience but for now ill just be checking out my list @_@ time to play miraroma for the mean time

i know what to expect from topless maid aprons…. @_@ im still struck down by miraroma after a near story failure from princess frontier (pretty weak in terms of story but has excellent humor) the heck no wonder many people like kaede so much @_@ shes the type of character that one could easily fall for… as well as someone you could just hug and protect @_@

Well, the card battle system here is definitely more fun than stuff like Princess Witches or Princess Waltz, although yeah it’s real confusing. Took about two rounds for me to catch the flow of the card battles.
Darn support cards are so annoying to master, especially against the second practice fight in the trial. Gonna try out the third fight later if I have the time.
….then again, the actual game’s already out now, so I might as well wait for my copy to arrive >__>
