Fortune Arterial

Fortune Arterial! About time that I started my run through with this one. And man, am I pleased.

First off, you’ve got awesome seiyuus involved. Nabatame Hitomi, Shizuka Itou, Taguchi Hiroko, Kanda Rie, all of them with great performances and deliveries in each of their respetive roles, and that’s just to name a few. So far everyone’s voice acting is top-notch, which is just absolutely wonderful to listen to. You’ve also got a pretty good repertoire of BGM music to keep your ears occupied, which helps a lot in enjoying the events. Great assortment of characters that are as likeable as any of Lump of Sugar’s cast!

Second, the game looks gorgeous. The CGs are wonderfully drawn (べっかんこう <3), and the accompanying effects in game fit right in! The interface is easy to navigate, aside from being quite an eye candy, and the dialogue box hardly gets in the way of things.

Thirdly? Personal interest. After hearing Erika for the first time, I initially thought that she was voiced by Shirai Ayano (who voiced Ikaruga Satsuki of Seinarukana). But after listening closer, it turns out that her seiyuu is none other than Kanda Rie, who also voiced Hibarigaoka Yuki (of Braban!)! Having her around is very definitely a welcome thing, as she’s great when it comes to ojousama roles. Plus, there’s also Nabatame Hitomi, Shizuka Itou, and most importantly Taguchi Hiroko (<3333333), all of whom are my most favorite seiyuus.

FORTUNE ARTERIAL GO!

Feena-sama!

Another awesome ojousama voiced by Hitomi Nabatame. Great. The moment I heard Feena-sama speak in Yoakena, I was reminded of Takami Rin. Though the latter is more cooldere than Feena, they’re still pretty similar in some aspects. Mia Naruse voicing Mia reminded me of Asakura Nanao the first time I heard her, and suddenly I felt as if I was playing through Lyrical Lyric again. Only, Mia isn’t constantly acting all tsundere and beating the shit out of Tatsuya while Feena verbally embarrasses the hell out of her.

Just reached May 24 in the game, and so far it’s pretty okay. The game is pretty slow in its pacing, but it’s supposed to be that way since the focus is on Feena and how she gradually adapts to Tatsuya’s household so I don’t mind much. That and I haven’t really gotten to the real meat of the story, so no wonder. The characters are pretty adorable, and the seiyuus are spot-on in their roles, so it’s no wonder that they all got retained for the PS2 conversion (what anime? Yoakena didn’t have an anime).

I swear, I was really freaked out by the opening. I thought I was having Lyrical Lyric flashbacks, only this time Nanao is turned into a docile maid who works round-the-clock for her ojousama‘s sake, and Rin becomes more sociable and friendly. What the fuck. Then I realized that I was playing a different game, and then everything was alright again.

Time for some more Feena-sama!

Moonlight Cradle

Or if you want the long title, 夜明け前より瑠璃色な-Moonlight Cradle-. Yoake Mae Yori Ruriiro na -Moonlight Cradle-!

The official site is here. Though it’s up, there’s not much information regarding the title aside from the banner image featuring Estel and Feena. I’m thinking that this is going to be the PC conversion of the PS2 conversion of the original Yoakena game, which, while redundant, isn’t entirely unthinkable. Seeing as Estel’s a very popular character, August must have realized the allure of having eroscenes with her. It’s feasible and profitable, and as the entrepreneur saying goes, if it’s feasible and sustainable, then go with it!

…Okay, that’s really the best I can think of as to why they’d re-re-release Yoakena. Hey, I like Estel, and that’s from her character design alone. Aside from being able to ichaicha with Estel, they could possibly add new scenes, ero or not. That’d be a nifty addition, I imagine. Besides, after the awesomeness that was Fortune Arterial (or so I’ve been hearing), it’s good to have some “simpler games once in a while.

For those who haven’t played the console conversion of Yoakena, Yoakena Moonlight Cradle should be a welcome title as it features Estel who was only available there, and for those who have played the PS2 Yoakena, then I image being able to ichaicha Estel is a very huge bonus. I really hope they do add more stuff though!

Now I have a reason to actually play through and finish Yoakena! Either that, or an excuse to slack off and not finish Yoakena, because if it’s going to come out again with a new character and a new route, why bother? Better to wait for the re-re-release to come out as it’s got improvements over the original, right?

Much love for August, Yuzusoft, and Lump of Sugar! Yay! \o/

A Slew of Titles

In case you’re wondering as to why I haven’t posted anything yet…

That’s because I’m too busy trying my best not to die from severe moe-inflicted injuries while attempting to keep my sanity intact at the same time! I have the deluge of titles that came out this 25th to conveniently blame for it. What with Fortune Arterial, Wondering Repair!, Sakura Strasse and Pia Carrot G.P. all vying for both my time and attention, I’d have to say that my hands are completely full.

…What? Finish my Seinarukana Chapter 3 summary, Quilt review and Aozora-Akane-iro dual post? NO WAY! Not while I have these babies to waste spend my time with!
